Excellent experience with our server Jonathan. Made us feel welcome. Explained the menu in great detail. But what I admire almost is that such a young man has grasped the whole true concept of hospitality we will be back for sure. Thank you

I just had the most amazing meal last night. The four of us started with appetizers: fried zucchini, the lightly flowered spiral zucchini with the horseradish dipping sauce (new item) and bruschetta. Everything was perfectly cooked, nothing was soggy like most fried things I have at other restaurants and the sauce was great. We moved on to dinner: tortellini with the sweet red pepper sauce, mafalda Alexander, Abby Angel hair and chicken piccata. Everything was perfectly cooked and the chicken melted in your mouth. For desert, homemade tiramisu, homemade rice pudding and carrot cake. We met the bakers, Jim and Kelly, and they were as personable as their dishes. To finish, the cappachino made by the owner, Alexander Colaizzi himself, was perfectly brewed and as tart as espresso gets. Perfecto! Grazie mille!

Today we had an early dinner at Alexanders. My father was recently given an antibiotic that caused severe neuropathy. He has limited use of his hands, arms and legs and has to use an extra wide wheelchair to get around. Picking a place to eat now comes with challenges and questions for accommodations. The server went above and beyond to help us from the moment she saw us struggling to get in to the very last minute when we left the restaurant. She opened doors, made sure we were able to sit at the table he wanted, moved his plates around when she saw he needed help, suggested he use a different bathroom to make it easier on us, and the list goes on...
My parents have been here many times throughout the years and the food has always brought them back. Not only do they have amazing food, we also learned today they also have the most kind hearted staff. Thank you for helping our family have a very lovely experience!

Loved the goat cheese ravioli with pesto and spinach. Had to take my tiramisu to go because I was so full and happy.

Our first visit and we loved it! Large portions, very tasty and fresh bread.
We had chicken Parma and veal and it was fresh and delicious! I'd highly recommend. If your looking for a newer trendy place this is not what your looking for. It's an older bar/restaurant, a large bar with a small outdoor patio and dining area with tables and booth seating. We will be back!

Almost exactly 1 year to the day, I wrote last year on 04/17/2012; I had a doctors appointment right down the street and the report was good. We decided to celebrate a little and the bistro looked great with the added enjoyment of fine weather and outdoor dinning. Every selection was excellent; from the wine to soup to salad to our main meal, all delicious! Kudos to Alexanders. Portions were great and all moderatley priced. A beautiful afternoon. Ditto again for this year, 04/16/2013. A special thank you to Chrissie. This years service was exceptional.

We meet friends regularly at Alexander's for dinner. We can't say enough about the treatment that we receive! We are remembered as if we're visiting someone's home. Jeff, Jim & Alex are outstanding. Each dish that we have tried has been wonderful. Looking forward to our next visit!

I had the greatest experience with Alexander's!!! On July 20th 2012 I had my sons Rehearsal dinner here. I am from Ohio and had no idea of any good places to eat at in Pittsburgh. Not only was the food out of this world but all the people that work in the restaurant (especially Jim) who went out of his way to make my worries and solve every problem for me. (even picking up a wedding cake at a bakery for me when everything went crazy!) I really felt like family. People are still talking about the lasagna sausage and meatballs. You are #1 in our book. thanks again!!!!

Alexander's is the best Italian restaurant in the whole Pittsburgh area. The Devon shire sandwich is my favorite. It is so good that it should be against the law. The sauce is impeccable. My daughter loves the whole wheat pasta, and the marinara sauce is the best. I come with a group of retired teachers, and we have the best time. You can't beat good food and good conversation.
